Equilibrium Net Relief Muzzle Net for Micklem® Bridles (Black)

he Net Relief Muzzle Net was the first product we developed back in 2001 and as such is very close to our hearts.

It is a product that is truly making a difference to horses’ lives all over the world as it can help to alleviate the symptoms of headshaking. Unlike traditional nets that cover the whole muzzle, its contoured, shaped design covers only the top half of the muzzle. Once in place, it is unobtrusive, allows saliva to escape from the mouth freely and does not interfere with the horses breathing. It can remain on the bridle at all times and places no restriction on the type of bit or noseband used.

Fully Adjustable, Net Relief Muzzle Net is attached to the noseband via hook and loop straps, which allows it to be adjusted up, or down and tailored to every horse. The Nets are easy to replace and refills are available in the pack.

The results of ‘Net Relief’ in Clinical Trials at De Montfort University in the UK were outstanding:
79% of the animals experienced an improvement in symptoms
84% of respondents said Net Relief was easy to use.
88% of respondents said Net Relief had an attractive appearance on the horse.

British Dressage and British Eventing* permit the muzzle net to be used in competition meaning that headshaking horses and ponies can perform at their true potential.

Can I use the Muzzle Net for field turnout? The Muzzle Nets are made of a fine mesh and designed to be used for ridden work only. For sun protection in the field we recommend the Field Relief Muzzle Protector.

Does the Muzzle Net Filter out pollen? No it does not. It would be impossible to screen out pollen without greatly restricting the amount of air the horse can breathe. This makes Net Relief Muzzle Net suitable for use by competition horses who have to exert themselves in order to perform.

Will the Muzzle Net fit on all types of bridle nose bands? The Muzzle Net can be altered to fit various bridles – please contact us directly for alteration instructions.

How does the Muzzle Net work? The success of half nets suggests that they do not actively filter out pollens, the holes are just to big. They may work by distorting the airflow through the nose, or distract/comfort the horse.
